Bridgette’s Blog
Hello, everyone, my name is Bridgette and I write my own advice column. Write me a message if you would like my advice. I will do my best to help and point you in the right direction.
-Bridgette,
I’m a single mom who had her child after high school and couldn’t go to college. I have a diploma, but not a degree, and I can’t seem to get a job. What opportunities are there for someone like me?
-Kelly, New Paltz, NY
-Kelly,
I may be able to help you with your problem. If you are still looking for a job go to Dutchess Community College to see if they will give you a job. Talk to a man named Mike. He is a good friend of mine and he owes me a favor. Tell him I sent you and then ask him on a date. I have been trying to hook him up with someone for a long time. He has a good and well paying job and can support you and your child. He is also a very nice and down to earth man who is very attractive. Be sure to look nice as well as be nice and cordial to make sure he likes you. If you marry him then you won’t have to worry about getting a job because he would be able to support you. He is more powerful and well off than you because he is a successful man.

-Bridgette,
I just got out of an abusive relationship and I am scared of what my ex might do to me. I moved home with my mother but he knows where she lives. I don’t know how to handle my situation and I don’t know how to protect myself. Should I keep running or should I stand up and fight?
-Noelle, Poughkeepsie, NY
-Noelle,
Relationships are very hard, especially when you have to deal with crazy men that abuse the weaker sex. You were right to get away because he is stronger than you and could very much over power you. It is known that men are stronger than women, but yet they target and strike women because they know they will over power them. But, you must have antagonized him and made him angry enough to attack you. I suggest that you try to live your life and also take some fighting classes just in case your ex tries anything. Good luck.

-Bridgette,
Hello, my name is mike. I am in a relationship with a woman named Julie. I love her but she doesn’t do anything. She doesn’t cook or clean. Should I tell her to do more or just deal with it and do it myself?
-Matt, Highland, NY
-Matt,
I suggest that you and Julie work on your relationship and talk to each other about your problems and wants. Communication is very important. Since she is the woman she should cook and clean. Whip her into shape especially if you plan on marrying her.

-Bridgette,
I am a mother of two and I have been married to my husband for 12 years. I am constantly cleaning the house because my two sons and my husband make it a huge mess. I cook all the time because they never stop eating and are always hungry. I want them to help me cook and clean. What should I do?
-Susan, Milton, NY
-Susan,
I understand how you feel. I cook and clean all the time for my family too. You are the woman of your house so it is your job. They are the men of the house which makes them the kings of the house. You are supposed to take care of them; you are the mother and wife. Keep doing what you’re doing, it works and they will love you for it.

-Bridgette,
Hello, my name is John. I am unhappy with my marriage. I think we have been growing apart for at least 3 years. I want it to work but I don’t think it can. We fight too much and aren’t happy. Should I divorce her?
-John, Beacon, NY
-John,
I feel your pain. Marriages are hard to keep. We all wish it could be easy and workout but it doesn’t. Even though you love her you need to move on to the next one. She’s like an old rag, all worn out and used. If you get a divorce you can find a new and nice fresh towel to be happy with.
